                  ASP1, ASP2, ASP3

 

      ASP1 - Create an application that calculates an employee’s payroll deductions and net pay.

a.                   Create a project called ASP1.  Save the application in the \VBASP\ASP1 folder.

b.                  Design and create a user interface that accepts an employee’s weekly hours worked, and hourly wage in separate text boxes.

c.                   Add a list box with three entries: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, and Life Insurance (all are optional for an employee).

d.                  Add a single label that displays the weekly gross earnings, the total deduction for all insurance, the deduction for tax (10% of gross earnings), and the net pay.

e.                   Add a Calculate button and a Clear button.

f.                    Add event procedures for the Calculate and Clear buttons.  Health insurance is $25 per week, dental insurance is $5 per week, and life insurance is 5% of gross earnings.  However, if an employee has all three kinds of insurance, he or she receives an additional 20% discount on the total insurance cost.

g.                   Save the solution, test the application, and modify as necessary.

 

ASP2 – Create an application that displays air fares to five different international destinations from New York City.

a.                   Create a project called ASP2.  Save the application in the \VBASP\ASP2 folder.

b.                  The interface should include five check boxes with identifying labels, one check box for each of the destinations.  The user should be able to select any or all of the check boxes.

c.                   Store the destinations and the air fares in two parallel arrays.

d.                  Each check box should also have an output label that displays the air fare only if the check box is selected.  If the check box is deselected, the output label is cleared.

e.                   Add a Clear button that clears all the output labels and deselects all check boxes.

f.                    Save the solution, text the application, and modify as necessary.

 

ASP3 – Password Checker

a.                   Develop an application called ASP3  Save the application in the \VBASP\ASP3 folder.

b.                  The application should allow the user to enter a possible password in a text box.

c.                   When the user clicks the Check Password button, the application should check the password to determine if it meets certain requirements for validity. 

d.                  The password must be between 8 and 15 characters in length.

e.                   The password must not contain any spaces.

f.                    Use a dialog box to display a message to the user explaining whether or not the password is acceptable.
