Course Description:

Object-oriented program development using Microsoft Visual Basic .Net and the Visual Studio .Net integrated development environment (IDE). The course emphasizes developing business information for MIS students. Prereq: BUIS 1300 and 3100


Goals and Objectives:

The goals of this course are as follows:

n       To provide the student with a firm foundation in a high-level programming language that is object oriented, which includes inheritance and polymorphism.

n       Students will learn to design and develop applications that run under Windows.

n       Mobile Applications Using Decision Structures

n       Object Oriented Programming

n       Loop Structures

n       Deploying Windows Applications

n       Exception Handling

n       Cell Phone Applications and Web Services

n       Error Traps and Help Files

n       Pop-up Help Windows

n       Online HTML Help

n       Runtime Exceptions, Error Traps, Handlers, and Messages

Gain an understanding and ability of how to code in Visual Basic, a high-level programming language, using object-oriented programming approach for a three-tier database application.
